New Store, New Cart, Thoughts?

    Hey people.

    In the last week or so, we've launched the new Cupar Garden Centre site, which I have transferred over many, many hours, from Interspire Shopping Cart Ultimate to CS-Cart.

    Everything seems to be running OK now, had a few issues along the way but, thankfully, none of them have been the carts fault, just the hosting environment.

    Now all the old Interspire URL's are redirecting properly to the new CS-Cart URL's, traffic is picking up again, have been rather amazed at just how quickly Google has picked up on the new URL's - including updating their Sitelinks - so the future's bright, the future's CS-Cart...

    Honestly, a little over a year ago I wouldn't have given this cart much thought, but with 2.2.X and v3 due for release shortly after Christmas (February I'm told), it's definitely a cart on the up. Interspire was great, for a while, but a distinct lack of support and very limited - if any at all - future updates, deprecates the cart for me.

    Feel free to take a look at the new site, quite a few customisations, still a heck of a lot of work to do, but I'd appreciate if you could take a look and provide some feedback...

    Looks nice. Why the move from Interspire?


    I had to remove my 'good taste' chip to view the 'Gifts' section.


    Couldn't help going into review mode:


    - Hannahs Chicken House: Easy access for cleaning and agg collection


    - Some apostrophes needed: Hannah's, Harry's, Hattie's, Helga's. (Holly's is correct)


    - Broken map image on Contact Us (link works, though)

    This is a beautiful implementation of Interspire.

    Well laid out, clean and just works. Top marks.

    Hope that was a slip of the fingertip Gabe - this is CS-Cart....goodbye Interspire!





    I guess this is that awkward moment when I gotta ask what TFA is?

    Ultimately with the demise of the Shopping Cart and not wanting to put all our eggs in one basket as it were, we didn't see a move to BigCommerce as beneficial - the BC support sucks just as much. It has steadily gotten worse (I suppose in relation to Shopping Cart sales) and with the likelihood of future releases dubious at best, I came to the decision it would be best to move to another steady cart. After keeping an eye on CS-Cart for a good number of months, I felt this platform would be best for the business - and, so far, I haven't been wrong. Sure, there are some issues, but with their support - which is excellent - we have resolved these issues and moved forward. There are some of the fancy slick functions of Interspire I do miss, but with the cart being open source, modifications are not too difficult, or we can use one of many CS-Cart professional development companies (or even their support) to create addons, which often works out much cheaper than to do it myself.

    With regards to the spelling and grammar issues, thankfully this is one of those moments I can proudly say...it wasnae me! (The broken image link(s) were though!! :( )

    after all this time running cs-cart, can you give us a little review of some good parts and some faults?

    i'm interested in switching favourite carts becasue interspire is getting left behind...
