Cart Abandonment

As this service is a hosted service more than anything else, I thought this category was most appropriate.

I have been looking into cart abandonment services, most companies I have found offer virtually the same service for various costs from around 5% up to 15%.

Just wondering if anyone else has used such services (or perhaps they have a self-hosted version, if so, what?) and can offer some advice on this subject.

    Thanks

i think prestashop actually has abandonment analysis, last time i checked. there is no real analysis. jsut lists and numbers i think.

what would it entail? top abandoned products? cart stage abandoned?

I feel the only way it'd really work is if it compared your abandonment rates to the rates of others.

Things like top abandoned products are already in Magento too, but what I was looking at, for instance, is a service provided by companies such as VE Interactive.

They drop a Javascript into your site which monitors fields for e-mail addresses and once they drop out the cart, follow it up with emails at various times to try and re-capture the sale.

Obviously there are a lot of factors which play a role in cart abandonment, but if these kind of services can bring back otherwise lost customers, it may be worthwhile albeit at a lower profit margin which won't work for every product unfortunately. But I am not sure which service to use, if anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

I did find a good one in prestashop, and they deal with it in a very smart way too:

That is cool - I've been playing with CS-Cart and Cart Abandonment is there, but definitely not to the same extent as this. This would be the ideal feature, but Prestashop currently has some limitations which prevent me from using it. Looks like it's going to have to be CS-Cart or Pinnacle Cart (which deserves a mention in itself, looking awesome so far) and just live without this feature :(
