I have evernote on my (android) phone, iPad and my desktop both as a full blown osx app, and as a web app. This pretty much means that they have all the bases covered. Here is a screenshot with some notes for the desktop app.

Here is the same note, shown in the web browser:

sadly, this isnt my evernote account, just a random pic.

The app itself lets you create notebooks. I like to think of them as books with blank pages. You then create and name a note, and paste any content you want in there. At its simplest level, its a shared set of documents that you can view and add across various platforms.

It means i can get data i typed into my web browser on my ipad, or save a quick note on my phone and get it later on my desktop with no effort.

I use mine to keep code snippets more than anything. SQL and PHP. Perhaps you can find a use for this. Its pretty open ended. You could keep tasks, notes, pics... even voice recordings.

    Have fun.

So, it's a bit like Google Docs...but better?

i did think it was very google docs. i suppose its not as good as google docs, mainly down to evernote not being 'multiplayer' like gdocs is.

the desktop and mobile apps for evernote definitely trump googles offerings. The mobile client is very useful.

    I completely agree.
Where sharing isn't required (which is the case with a lot of my stuff) then Evernote is bloody brilliant!
Now, if only the wifi hadn't just borked on my iphone, I could install it on there too and edit/add on the move *rolls eyes*

Anyway, still great sync between laptop and iPad. I likey a lotty
