New Forum Software, Please Explore
  • August 2011
Based on some ideas from a few of you and a good bash at designing a new template I have implemented new forum software.

    Why?
    - Simpler, there are a lot less bells and whistles to distract you from the real topic here: Helping each other to sell more online.
    - Social, facebook, twitter and google accounts integration for creation of accounts and logging in.
    - Extendable, finally a plugin language I can understand and use to develop custom features!

Have an explore, let me know if things behave the way they should and reply to this open thread.

    B-)

Gabe, the text on the user preferences is almost impossible to read
Tried to past a big screenshot and got the message "Body is 207800 characters too long."

Would be nice to be able to post an image without hosting it myself too?

darren, how did you log in? i'm having trouble understanding the reason some users get 'permissions denied' on login.

did you use your normal username and password? social login?

    i used my normal login

as for those users i could not keep up with the regular deleting of accounts, the old forum had no simple way of selecting members then clicking delete. it was one at a time

It was the same for this one. I used some creative SQL to detect everyone that had not confirmed their email and put them in the sin bin. Lol.

Now there is some clever anti spam and some more features in place to stop spammy users.

actually, there's an issue with deleting previously attached images. The "are you sure" pop up comes up but clicking "okay" just hangs the page.

    Firefox 6, if it makes a difference/helps

    Gabe, another observation.

    No "quote" option?

i.e. ability to quote a previous user's reply?

(thanks for sorting the contrast in the user preferences)

    =D>

the times and dates are stored. look below peoples avatars on the left for comment dates.

for the dates of parent posts, its on the line below the post name.

I had originally stripped back every feature and visual aspect in the templates as much as possible.

i wanted to find out the bare minimum that people can comfortably use. I think you're right, quotes need to stay in.
