Sounds good and will also benefit all.

    Name your keywords... :p

  • June 2009
well, i'm just throwing them out there, but:

    ecommerce chat
    ecommerce help
    selling chat
    help selling online
    starting an online shop
    starting ecommerce
    new online shop

and probably loads more, some i ahve not even thought about

if you could all hit your twitter with our url too:
'need help selling online? try the pros over at www.talkaboutselling.co.uk'

or something of the sort. and, things like facebook, and such. it cant hurt.

First thing to do then is to rename the forums and incorporate your keywords into the title of each as applicable.

  • June 2009
woo! lets have some ideas then?

what do you suggest we rename them to? lets see if we cant get something rolling.

  • June 2009
Simply renaming them to reflect better what they are about will have good effectes eg open source carts - would become open source ecommerce carts.

This would allow G to better theme the forum - at the moment its pretty non descriptive.

    SEO plug installed.

we can now use titles, metas, and such, much better control.

    as well as url re-writing.

    woot

    we can now use titles
These should link up with the forum titles now and make things much better.

As always the question is - what is the ultimate aim of the site?????

  • June 2009
excellent. then our plan worked perfectly:

    *bows*

    hehehe
If this was the whole aim of this forum then Im pretty pissed:mad::mad:

i always think uk business forums is model to strive to

no, it was an interesting side effect mr malc, only realised after soem wierd events took place.

originally, i wanted a place to talk about other carts and discuss ideas not allowed on that forum, but what happened was a little bit wierd. i lot of anti actinic talk happened, and i had to adjust the flow accordingly. this is a better place now, and i hope you'll agree, more help happens on the actinic forum, and less biting :)

trust me, the dulling of the actinic forum was not top of my list. what has happened, is that this place has allowed you (and others) to talk freely about things that would otherwise hurt the actinic forum. like comparison to competitors.

but that, is for another thread. :)

would otherwise hurt the actinic forum
As far as Im concerned Actinic ruined the Actinic forum and now it only exists because people have so many problems with the software and actinic support is crap.

    ah, fuck it.

  • June 2009
so, i'v filled in some meta info on the pages and tuned the clever url re-writing.

now it uses thread titles and other useful words.

so, later i'll make sure that the forum titles and metas are pretty.

thanks to all those people who twittered!

    :D

If the Interspire thread was renamed to 'Interspire - Tell me about your Experiences', I bet it'd be much higher ranking for 'Interspire' and would bring quite a bit of targeted traffic. Sound good?

Signature links at all of the forums everybody frequently visits would also be a big help, shame community.*******.com have sensored talkaboutselling.co.uk :(lol

Have you looked at this Mod for VB?

Should help with SEO by creating a sitemap for google and yahoo to index

excellent, i'll look into it. :)

This might be another good one to get extra content on the forum. Also it will give users a better idea of what a thread is about, rather than just reading a title.
