Different approach to building a community
  • June 2009
Hey guys (Admins), have you seen this for a community builder?

    http://www.boonex.com/products/dolphin/

The demo looks good, and there seems to be so much that can be done to create the No.1 resource/community for selling online

    And it's free ;)

It certainly looks like it pretty much covers everything and am wondering if i could find a use for it myself.

That said and done, managing something like that would be a huge task and i really dont think Gabe and Myself have that sort of time ;)

it looks pretty awesome, but i barely have time to take in oxygen and output carbon dioxide these days.

Maybe one for the back burner then?

As time goes on, im sure there will be people on here who you can trust to help out with the site ;)

i'v had a good poke about in there, and i think thats more suited to social networking.

its certainly fun, and has plenty of interesting features, that i hope one can turn off. like 'hot or not', and 'top music'.

all i really see from that software, is a massive wave of crappily managed and diluted facebook copies. :(

Things like user blogs, articles, a forum, classifieds etc would help create a resource on the web to sell online. The fact it's open source means to me it can be changed to suit.
But like you said Gabe, their is loads of useless stuff, but controlled would make it suit? :)
